“Experience is a great teacher.
It’s just that the tuition is so high.” Norwegian proverb.
Starting a career. Starting a family. Ending a family. Starting a business. Structuring a business. Transitioning a business. Slicing and deferring taxes. Transitioning your ‘stuff’ to those people and causes you love. Post-career/retirement transitions.
These are the big life events. And there are others, unexpected and seismic changes that blindside us. You’ll want good advice, and good advice is the sum total of wisdom and success gleaned, in part, from hard-won experience and sound education.
My domain is tax, investment and planning advice: individuals and businesses. Yes, the "Whole Picture."
A diverse background and education, my wins and losses, and the advice of people (my wife, Denise, for one!) who cared, all provided that ‘expensive’ school we call ‘experience.’ I sell no products, but provide tax and investment advice, team resources and money management.
Past careers include the pastorate, the medical/biotech sales and marketing. I love to volunteer, including organizing treasurer for three nonprofit boards, establishing accounting procedures and managing the books. I currently serve on the Development Team of Joni and Friends Greater Philadelphia, a 501(c)3. And I serve as President and Treasurer for my HOA.
Education includes a BA in Philosophy, an MDiv (summa cum laude), and an MBA. I’m a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner.
I live with my wife, Denise, in Harleysville, PA, and have two grown children, Andrew and Rebecca. I enjoy fly-fishing, playing the quiet, bellows-blown bagpipes (smallpipes), eating finely prepared squash and making a bit of mischief here and there.
